Wynyard Grill (wynyardgrill.co.nz) is looking for 2 full or part-time permanent kitchen hands to join our incredible team and award winning restaurant. We are located in the Auckland CBD (Wynyard Quarter by the Viaduct Harbour)
We are a fun and hard working crew. Hours will be five days a week, various shifts Monday to Sunday, normally 2/4pm-10pm or 11am-8pm for 20 to 40 hours per week.
Competitive salary based on experience level, shared tips based on hours worked (around $200 per month per person), monthly bonuses for meeting targets, 50% discounts for staff, family and partners, free drinks and meals on busy nights.
Prefer experience in fine dining service but willing to train the right candidate.
Summary of job duties
1) Assist with cleaning of dishes and kitchen equipment in cleaning area
2) Put away deliveries and check against invoices
3) Keep a clean working area and ensure that all equipment, surface areas, floors and cooking appliances are tidy, sanitary and in like new condition
4) Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety laws of New Zealand
5) Perform daily and weekly checklists as instructed by head chef and management team
6) Follow preparation lists created by chef de partie for team use
7) Prepare food in accordance with recipe book instructions and head chef’s advice
8) Assist chef de partie in their roles by retrieving food and creating back up of items in need
9) Ask for and communicate regularly with other staff to gain feedback from customers and staff, and work with head chef to constantly improve product quality
10) Monitor and document fridge and freezer temperatures to ensure that they remain within allowable limits under New Zealand Health and Safety laws
11) Advise head chef or manager of any issues or problems with kitchen equipment or food
12) Monitor and document and take measures to prevent wastage of food
